TT: When meeting someone new, how do you explain what Scent Fill does?

Mark: ScentFill manufactures the first 100% Natural scented oil refills for plug in scented oil warmers. 100% Natural with ZERO weird chemicals.

TT: What makes you most excited about working with Target Accelerators?

Mark: We have been blown away by the Target team, their genuine support, and their dedication to emerging brand success. The amazing and generous resources that Target Accelerators provides, from subject matter experts, to innovative ideas, to critical review, are crucial components to the growth of an emerging brand.  We are also constantly encouraged by Target’s fundamental culture, and it’s something we strive to emulate.

TT: As a business owner/founder, how are you functioning today that is different than how you were functioning 6 months ago?

Mark: As COVID hit, so did a dramatic increase in Direct to Consumer (DTC) sales. This brought a bevy of unique complications trying to managing exploding sales and staff safety.  Thanks to technology like VOIP (Voice Over IP) phones, cloud-based systems, Zoom, and a lot of hard work, our staff rose to the challenge(s).  We had spray bottles of hand sanitizer that we infused with drops of eucalyptus and lavender oils, reminder signs, and social distancing procedures. Despite these challenges, we were able to maintain our same-day shipping promise, and grew our devoted customer base by the day.TT: What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs what are navigating this current environment?

Mark: Be sensitive to, and aware of, employee’s concerns regarding COVID. Remember that, just like you, every employee’s health – and that of their families – is paramount to them.  Listen and be flexible where possible.  If you don’t already, have a plan in place for parents that may be forced to homeschool their children.  Always provide a safe, comfortable workspace complete with plenty of sanitizing and disinfecting products. Empathize with your employees and make it known that they can come to you.  All that aside – keep your eye on the ball – hustle and grind every day!
